Vero
- For your next vacation, consider coming to lovely Vero Beach to visit Gladys (aka Nana).
Play Scrabble … Gladys is at the very on top of her game and hard to beat.
Start the Turtle wars. Across from her place, just toss in a few crumbs of bread, you will have a million fish fighting for the bread. And then the turtles show up … I counted 9 of them at the last feeding.
Watch a Beautiful sunset. Right from Nana’s new porch offers up an incredible sunset every night!
Meet Fascinating people. Eating breakfast, dinner, and then supper in the dining hall, you get to meet Nana’s friends. Cool people include: - Roger, a 93 year old saxophone player who was amazing (he gave a concert in the lobby and, wow, he can rip.)
- Cordelia who can remember the end of World War I.
Larry who was in World War II and Korea and is busy putting all his sketches on a website. (http://larryssketchbook.com) - Swim in the Pool. Perfect temps and almost nobody swims so you can have it all to yourself.
Visit Vero Beach, a lovely beach. Nana and I found the perfect coffee shop for her to sit while I ran or walked around the beach.
Eat Terrific Food: You are waited on constantly with a staff that bends over backwards to offer you whatever you want. It’s a constant flow of coffee and desserts …. And if you want ½ a lemonade, ½ cranberry drink, they fix it right up. The staff is beyond friendly.
Try Wii bowling. It’s really popular here with big bowling tournaments. They also have a pool hall, crafts room, library, shuffle board, and beauty shop.
Walk on the great walking trails. Right out the back is a road perfect for long walks without the crowds but with plenty of side walks!
